How to Care a Cow

The objective of cow caring is to keep cow healthy and active. Care should take care of cow to get healthy calf during parturition. Following matters should be maintained properly for caring cow.


  1. Cows should be walked around regularly.
  2. Cow�s hoof should be trimmed if necessary.
  3. Cow�s health should be checked regularly.
  4. Never make the cow excited or disturbed during milking.
  5. Routine deworming program of cow should be followed.
  6. Cows should be vaccinated to prevent infectious disease.
  7. Grooming (rubbing body using brush) of cow should be performed daily.
  8. Sometimes, insecticides should be sprayed to protect insects and odd smell in house.
  9. Cow shed should be kept neat & clean all times.
  10. Washing of cow should be performed daily so that cows will not be affected by ticks, lice, flies, mites etc.
  11. Milking of cow should be performed at the fixed time in every morning and afternoon.
  12. Before milking, udder should be washed with clean water and at the same time, milker�s hand should be washed with disinfectant solution.
  13. If the cows do not come in heat after 90 days of parturition, cows should be checked up by a doctor to come into heat.
  14. After parturition, placenta should be buried immediately after falling.
  15. After birth, external part of urinary lining should be washed with disinfectant solution.
